Here is a video made by the video class of Spanish III's production of Little Red Riding Hood. You can probably tell that both the students and teacher had fun with their Spanish learning. Is your Spanish III class this fluent?
Spanish I:
This course is designed for students with little to no background knowledge of the Spanish language. Students will be introduced to the language and culture of the Spanish speaking world. Emphasis is placed on vocabulary development, as students learn to speak about themselves, their families, friends, and activities. Reading and writing will reinforce oral work.
Spanish II:
Students continue to develop vocabulary and oral skills. More emphasis is placed on reading, writing, and listening skills. The primary text will be supplemented with short stories, newspapers, poems, etc. in Spanish, thereby developing a deeper understanding of the culture.
Spanish III:
Students will review and extend their knowledge of the Spanish language and culture and deepen their ability to communicate in a variety of situations. Students’ oral communication skills continue to broaden and reading, writing, and listening skills begin to receive equal emphasis. Students may write compositions in Spanish.
Spanish IV:
This course is designed to help students achieve the fluency necessary to carry on prolonged oral and written communication. Emphasis is placed on conversation, reading, compositions, listening to native speakers, and improving pronunciation. Through their studies, students will attain a deeper understanding of Spanish speaking countries.
