    #THUN: Game Day.

    Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

This is Keegan Grady checking in from the World Championships of Freestyle Kayaking in Thun, Switzerland.

Last night the Canadian mens team brought the heat! All five of our men made it on to Quarter Finals (top 30.), Nick won prelims and the rest of the team was right on his tail. Setting the bar high for the junior team…

It’s about 1:30 swiss time and I just got back from the wave where Guilaume LaRue won prelims for C-1. WOW! I hopped in my boat for a quick warm-up and stretch, and I’m feeling realllly reallllly good. Ready to charge it!

So, a little over three hours until the moment I’ve been anticipating for over a year. Honestly, I can’t wait, thanks to NRA I’v been in this comp situation to many times to count. I know excactly what to do, when, and how to do it.

Big thanks to all my teachers, especially Tino Specht and david Hughes. Also a big shout out to trop and Buck!

    This ones for you boys!
    Keego.

    World Championships Update #1

    Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

This is Keegan Grady checking in from Thun, Switzerland.

It’s my fourth day in the beautiful city of Swiss Land. The country is the size of vancouver island and has a population almost 1/3 the size of Canada’s, (8 million people). The wave will be set this afternoon, and all the teams are here. Some how most of the Canadian Team ended up with pink boats? I don’t know if that was some extra motivation from EJ, or the guys at the factory trying to be funny…

Big thanks to EJ for shipping us boats by the way.

TOmoro I get my paddles from Lightning and training OFFICIALLY starts. The whole Airborn Athletics crew is cozy in our pad. We got James Rowlinson, Devyn Scott, Joshish, And I.

Time to light this place up?

    Peace.
    Keego

    High Water Ottawa River

    Friday, May 8th, 2009

    HEY,

This is Keegan Grady checking in from the beautiful Ottawa Valley!  The last couple of weeks have been amazzing!!! Airborn Athletics Team member Devyn Scott and I headed to his home town of Almonte looking for first descents…      What we found was a perfect  25 footer beside a generating station that is under heavy construction. Devyn and I  both stomped the drop, and named it DK Falls.

The next day we ventured into the Capital City of Canada, Ottawa. It was a perfect day, we crossed Champlain Bridge into Quebec and headed up to the Deschenes Ruins. The wave was great, greening regularly and producing lots and lots of air.

For more info and photos from the first descent or the ruins  check out        Airborn Athletics       or Level Six….

Today we are getting ready to head back  to West Virginia for finals! ( and my last week of high school )

    Stay Classy,

    Keegan Grady

    Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

Hi, my name is Keegan Grady. I am attending New River Academy with the support of Lunch Video Magazine and their LVM Video Scholarship.  I am stoked to return to Canada and my home river, the Ottawa, this weekend for the Level Six Capital Cup in Ottawa, Ontario. It’s a great competition that I have attended every year for the past five years, it’s a fun little feature where almost every trick can be thrown. For more info on the feature google, cityofottawawhitewater.

Here is a link to a short video on fourth quarter in the south eastern United States. Enjoy!
