Mi gustan tus ojos is a good one. Hola mi bonboncito, works every time. And of course the regular old hola linda is a good starter, besides girls in chile are crazy for gringos, were just guilty pleasures.

Anna, you're being sexist or you haven't travelled with kayakers enough. Kayaking is a thrill sport, ADD people love thrills, kayaking takes a lot of gear, ADD people can barely find the car-keys so things like pogies, shoes, ropes etc end up in every car they ride in causing them hours of searching next trip.
  Some tips:
Don't bring it if you haven't worn it this month - you obviously don't need it.
Only girls look at your shoes, you are likely the only girl, so get on with it.
Dressing like a local is usually cheap and savy so pack like you will shop locally (but you won't).
If you pack quick-dry items instead of cotton, you can wash up often (but you won't).
Put ALL your kayaking gear INSIDE your drytop and keep your helmet clipped to PFD and elbow pads. Easier to find everything when they are never apart.

Avoid taking too much black stuff... it all blends together in your bag / car / cabin.
  Great articles.. keep em coming!
